Highlighting the ways Southeastern Indiana REMC gives back through community partnerships, charitable initiatives, and programs that support the members and communities we serve.
Supporting C.A.M.P. at M.C.R.
At Southeastern Indiana REMC, supporting the communities we serve is part of our cooperative mission. Through the Operation RoundUp program, members help make a meaningful difference for local organizations every month—often with just a few spare cents from their electric bill.

This month, we’re proud to highlight C.A.M.P. at M.C.R. (Muscatatuck Christian Ranch) in Jennings County, which recently received a $2,000 Operation RoundUp grant to purchase new refrigerators for the kitchen and dining areas at the camp.

Located near North Vernon, Muscatatuck Christian Ranch sits on more than 250 acres of woods and pasture along the Muscatatuck River, offering a peaceful setting where children, families, and church groups can gather for camps, retreats, and community events.

Each year, the ranch hosts youth camps and educational retreats, serving hundreds of campers and families from across the region. The kitchen and dining areas are central to these programs, providing meals and a place for campers and volunteers to gather, connect, and build lasting memories.

The new refrigerators will help the camp safely store food and supplies needed to support campers, staff, and volunteers throughout the busy camp season. By improving the kitchen’s capacity and efficiency, the upgrade will allow the ranch to continue serving meals for large groups and hosting events that bring people together.

Grants like this are made possible through Operation RoundUp, a voluntary program where participating REMC members round up their monthly electric bill to the next dollar. Those small contributions are pooled together and distributed as grants to nonprofits and community projects throughout our service territory.

It’s a simple idea with a powerful impact.

Thanks to the generosity of REMC members, organizations like C.A.M.P. at M.C.R. can continue providing meaningful experiences for youth and families in our region.
