Growing Together
April always feels like a fresh start. The days get longer, gardens begin to wake up, and we start seeing neighbors outside again after a long winter. It’s a season that reminds us how much can grow when the conditions are right.

At Southeastern Indiana REMC, we think about growth a little differently than most companies. Because we’re a cooperative, growth isn’t just about expanding services—it’s about strengthening the communities we serve and the connections we share with our members.

One of the biggest ways we’re growing right now is through SEI Fiber. For decades, you’ve known REMC as your electric cooperative. Today, we’re also working to bring reliable, high-speed fiber internet to rural southeastern Indiana. Just like electricity transformed rural communities years ago, fiber is opening new opportunities for remote work, online learning, telehealth, and local business growth.

Of course, our electric service is still the foundation of everything we do. Our crews work every day—often behind the scenes—to maintain lines, replace poles, upgrade equipment, and respond to outages. Their work helps ensure the power you rely on is there when you need it.

But the kind of growth we value most happens within our communities. Through programs like Operation RoundUp, community partnerships, and educational programs, we’re proud to support the people and organizations that make southeastern Indiana such a special place to live.

As you flip through this month’s issue, you’ll see stories that reflect that spirit—from local organizations doing meaningful work to helpful ideas for saving energy at home. Each one is a reminder that when we support each other, our communities grow stronger.

Thank you for being part of your cooperative. When you support REMC, you’re investing in your neighbors—and in the future of our community.

And that’s the best kind of growth there is.
