At Southeastern Indiana REMC, being a cooperative means more than delivering reliable power—it means investing in the people and communities we serve. This past month was a strong reflection of that commitment, as we connected with members of all ages and supported local initiatives across our service area.

Here’s a look at how your co-op has been making a difference this past month:

We kicked things off by welcoming some of our youngest members to Kids Club, where students learned about energy, safety, and how electricity powers their everyday lives. Programs like Kids Club help build meaningful connections with the next generation while reinforcing the importance of electrical safety in a fun, engaging way.

We also took time to recognize the dedicated individuals who work behind the scenes—and often in challenging conditions—to keep the lights on. During Lineman Appreciation Day, we honored our lineworkers for their hard work, commitment, and service. The team was treated to lunch as a small token of appreciation for the critical role they play in powering our communities every day.

Beyond our own organization, we were proud to support and participate in meaningful community events. REMC attended the Ripley County Community Foundation’s Women’s Giving Circle event in Napoleon as supporters, celebrating the power of collective giving and its lasting impact across the county.

We also joined the community in celebrating the grand opening of the South Ripley baseball and softball complex, where we were a sponsor of the field improvements. The project—supported in part by the Cincinnati Reds Community Fund—brought significant upgrades to the facility, creating a high-quality playing surface and enhanced experience for student-athletes and fans alike. It’s an investment not just in athletics, but in community pride, youth development, and opportunities that extend well beyond the field.

Each of these moments reflects what it means to be a cooperative—working together, supporting one another, and investing in the future of the communities we call home. It’s all part of our commitment to serving our members beyond the meter.
