When we started pulling this issue together, the word reliability kept coming up—but not just in the ways you might expect.

Of course, reliability shows up in the services we depend on every day. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized it’s really about something deeper. It’s about consistency. It’s about trust. It’s about knowing something—or someone—will be there when it matters.

​

And honestly, that looks a little different for all of us.

​

For some, it’s having a home that’s ready when storms roll in. For others, it’s staying connected to work, school, or family. And sometimes, it’s simply the peace of mind that comes from not having to think twice about the things you rely on most.

​

As you read through this issue, you’ll see that idea woven throughout—whether it’s preparing for severe weather, staying safe around electricity, or finding ways to keep your home comfortable and efficient. You’ll also see how reliability shows up in our communities, through programs, partnerships, and the people who make it all happen.

But one of the most important pieces of reliability—especially in a cooperative—comes back to participation.

​

This time of year is a great reminder of that. Our Annual Meeting is coming up, and while it may look a little different in a virtual format, the purpose is still the same. It’s your opportunity to stay informed, hear what’s happening at your co-op, and take part in the director election.

​

If you’ve ever thought, “Does my vote really matter?”—the answer is yes. It’s one of the simplest ways to have a voice in something you’re a part of.

​

So as you read this issue, I’d encourage you to take that extra step. Cast your vote. Tune in on May 18. Stay connected—not just to the services, but to the cooperative itself.
